Evelyn Shepherd Young - Adoption, Rescue for sale in Poway, California

Evelyn is a completely gorgeous and friendly German shepherd or GS blend. By her looks, she is a pedigree GS - who knows?

She is about 10 months old, and is perfect in every single way but one (if you even think this is an imperfection):

Beautiful Evie was born with a birth defect that has caused her to lose flexibility in her hind legs.

BUT

this doesnt affect beautiful Evie - she moves around beautifully, and I sort of think of her as an automobile that needs a bit of a jump start every now and then.

All you need to do is boost her up on her back legs when she gets stuck in one position.

As you see from her pictures, Evie can stand up just fine, and once she is up, she can walk up and down our steep hill and make her way around our 2.5 acres just fine.

In fact, she sort of has a bunny hop, which is adorable!

She has no problems on the hills and follows us wherever we go -- she is strong, active, and healthy.

Evelyn has had a series of x-rays that have been reviewed by several vets.

There really isnt any sort of problem that surgery can fix, which in some ways is a good thing, because it means she wont have to undergo any special procedures

she is fine the way she is! She is in no pain whatsoever, but MAY eventually get arthritis (all of us will!) and need Rimadyl (which is not expensive) or something like that.

However, right now, she is active and pain-free.

Evie is so young, active, and amazingly well adjusted that I hesitate to even think of her as special needs.

She is playful, super great with other dogs (big and small), simply ignores my kitties (which is pretty sweet), and she is gentle as a lamb with children.

I LOVE this girl!

She is a very easy keeper and needs no special treatment at all

she just needs love and attention, which she returns a 100 times over!

She follows direction like a champ, walks well on a leash, is both house broken and crate trained, gets along with other dogs (big and small), and loves children.

All Evie needs is a family who will love her just the way she is.

Her adoption covers her spay an all of her shots.

Shes up to date on everything. She is extremely healthy, and I have all of her vet records, including x-rays (which I can pass on to her new family) and all of her shot records.
